The South Carolina Association of Student Councils was organized to develop student leadership, good citizenship, and cooperation among the student councils in the state.
SCASC is a non-profit organization dedicated to …
1) developing student leadership, good citizenship, and cooperation among the student councils of this state,
2) serving as an incentive for the organization of more student councils in this state,
3) dealing with the problems of common interest to middle, junior high, and senior high schools throughout
the state, and
4) representing the student councils of South Carolina in public affairs.
Membership is open to student councils in schools with grade levels 6 -12

What can the
South Carolina Association of Student Councils
do for you and your school?
Fall Leadership Workshops – one day rally workshops (hosted by the school of the student chairman) held throughout the state in one of the six districts of SCASC. Open to all member schools.
Southern Conference - a three day conference held in one of the southern states. Includes workshops, speakers, networking and leadership training.
Advisors’ Workshop – a one-day workshop in the winter (held in Columbia) that includes SCASC information, a session with a guest presenter, and an idea sharing period.
Middle Level Workshop – held on the same day as the Advisors’ Workshop. Sessions on leadership training, team building, ice breakers, social activities, guest speakers, and networking. For middle level members.
State Convention – a two and a half day convention (hosted by the school of the state president) of speakers, workshops, campaigning and election of state officers, business meetings, award presentations and a banquet. Open to member schools.
National Conference – the opportunity to attend a national conference including workshop sessions, speakers, team building activities, community service, networking with students (from all fifty states as well as other nations), and social activities.
Summer Leadership Workshop – a four and a half day camp of intensive training in all aspects of leadership. Held at the FFA Camp at Cherry Grove, SC. For member schools.
Newsletter- two-three times a year, the executive director sends out a newsletter about upcoming events and activities, awards received by students of member schools, and information and sharing of ideas.
Resource/website– the SCASC executive directors will assist member schools with advice, suggestions, ideas, and resources for various topics/situations.
